Patients & Visitors

Visiting Hours

At St. Paul’s Hospital, we believe in the healing power of connection.

We follow an Open Family Presence approach, which means patients can choose essential family members or support people they want by their side during their stay at any time of day. These essential support people are part of the care team and play an important role in a patient’s comfort, decision-making and well-being.

Essential Family/Support Persons

  • Welcome any time, day or night
  • Considered part of the care team
  • Support patient well-being and recovery

We ask that support persons follow our infection prevention guidelines, respect the privacy of others, and ensure their presence doesn’t interfere with care or rest.

General Visitors

Friends and extended family are welcome to visit during regular hours, but are not part of the care team. Visiting hours may vary by unit or depending on patient needs. If you’re unsure, we recommend calling ahead. General visits/social visits are not permitted 24/7.

Safe Visiting Practices

The health and safety of everyone at St. Paul’s is our top priority. Please follow these guidelines:

  • Clean your hands when entering and exiting the hospital and patient rooms
  • Stay home if you’re feeling unwell or experiencing symptoms such as fever, cough, sore throat or other symptoms
  • Be mindful of any outbreak-related restrictions that may temporarily limit visits
  • Masks are not required in most areas but may be needed in certain situations. Masks are always available on-site if you choose to wear one.

Together, we can help ensure that visits are safe, supportive, and meaningful.
