In our Palliative Care Unit, we walk alongside patients and families with tenderness, compassion and deep respect \u2013 caring not only for the body, but for the heart and spirit as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our 12 private rooms, located on the fifth floor of St. Paul\u2019s Hospital, offer a peaceful setting where patients can be surrounded by the people and comforts that matter most. Every detail\u2014from around-the-clock medical care to music therapy and the comfort care cart\u2014is designed to make each moment meaningful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We understand that this is a deeply personal time. We also support the family and caregivers around them, providing space, guidance and resources to help them feel present and cared for. Our goal is to support the whole circle of care with compassion and clarity.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n<button class=\"accordion-header\" type=\"button\">What We Offer<\/button>\n<div class=\"accordion-content\">\n    \n\n<p>Located on the fifth floor of St. Paul\u2019s Hospital, our Palliative Care Unit provides around-the-clock medical and nursing care in a quiet, supportive environment. Patients and families have access to an interdisciplinary team of nurses, physicians, social workers, and spiritual care specialists who provide medical care as well as music therapy, healing arts programming and other supports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Amenities include a family kitchen, stillness and sacred spaces, a comfort care cart, memory tree, personalized room features, and volunteer-led programs. Grief and bereavement resources are available to help patients and families find strength and healing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The generosity of the St. Paul\u2019s Hospital and Foundation donor community also makes it possible for us to provide patients and their loved ones with items that help bring comfort and ease \u2013 like warm blankets, refreshments, d\u00e9cor, art supplies and birthday celebrations.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n<button class=\"accordion-header\" type=\"button\">Our Approach<\/button>\n<div class=\"accordion-content\">\n    \n\n<p>Our care is person-centred, holistic and rooted in the values of respect and dignity. We work closely with patients and families to understand what matters most to them, and tailor our supports accordingly. We understand that end-of-life care is about more than physical comfort &#8211; it is about being seen, heard and valued, which is why each care plan is individualized. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With generous donor support, we can go beyond clinical care to offer holistic programming and legacy projects that help families create lasting memories.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n<button class=\"accordion-header\" type=\"button\">Visit<\/button>\n<div class=\"accordion-content\">\n    \n\n<p>We know how important connection is, which is why families are welcome anytime. After 8:00 p.m., please use the Emergency Department entrance to access the unit. Quiet spaces like the family room, stillness room, and ceremonial room are available for private reflection.
