Our Mission in Action

Empowering Our People

At St. Paul’s Hospital Foundation, we’re proud to support our staff and physicians through programs that fund innovative projects and professional development opportunities.

Our Staff Advancing Our Hospital

St. Paul’s Hospital Foundation has two programs for Hospital employees and physicians to submit projects to the Foundation for fundraising consideration:

St. Paul’s Hospital & Foundation are pleased to announce the launch of a $40,000 Professional Development Fund to support staff at St. Paul’s Hospital in advancing their clinical knowledge, skills, and engagement with leading practices and programs.

This fund is intended to provide timely support for professional development opportunities throughout the remainder of the 2025 calendar year. We are excited to trial this initiative and gain insights into the ongoing needs for skill enhancement, formal education, and conference participation among our nurses, interprofessional practice teams, and allied health professionals.

Successful applicants will play a key role in this pilot by contributing impact statements, assisting in the creation or revision of clinical standards and training materials, and helping to translate new knowledge into practice.

We extend our sincere thanks to you and your teams for your commitment to advancing clinical excellence at St. Paul’s Hospital.

If you have any questions about the fund or the application process, please reach out to your manager for support.

Eligibility

  • The professional development opportunity is focused on advancing care or bringing innovative new care to St. Paul’s Hospital and our Province; all training opportunities must be for advanced level competency
  • The SPH&F Professional Development Fund is available to Nurses, Interprofessional Staff, and Operational Leaders who wish to improve their skills, pursue advanced competency training, or participate in pertinent conferences and workshops.

Hospital Employee Educational Development

Our mission at St. Paul’s Hospital is to provide everyone who walks through our doors requiring medical assistance with the best in compassionate care. As an acute care teaching hospital, education is top of mind and the importance of circulating that knowledge is paramount. In 1991, an endowment fund was established with a gift from the St. Paul’s Hospital Nurses’ Alumni. The Foundation has stewarded the St. Marguerite d’Youville Endowment Fund to provide annual learning opportunities for employees through funding directed to the Saskatoon Health Region Professional Development Fund and to the St. Paul’s Hospital Foundation Program and Professional Development Awards.

Each year, SPH Foundation allocates funds from the St. Marguerite d’Youville Endowment to the St. Paul’s Hospital Foundation Program and Professional Development Awards, granting groups and individuals financial support to advance employee knowledge, skills and qualifications.

The submission period is now closed.

If you have questions about the 2025 Awards please contact Mariette Jean at the Foundation office at 306 655 6027.
