Community Generosity Multiplies Impact for Kidney Care
What began with a $100,000 matched gift from the Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority (SIGA) grew into a powerful province-wide movement for better kidney care. Together, one-time donations and planned estate gifts designated to the By Your Side Kidney Care Campaign raised a total of $458,176.18 during the month of September, including SIGA’s phenomenally generous matched gift.
This momentum helped shine a light on the realities of chronic kidney disease, which affects 1 in 10 people in Saskatchewan and 1 in 3 Indigenous Peoples. With a shared goal of saving lives and strengthening communities, the campaign is advancing early detection programs and providing culturally safe care options across the province.
Desiree Gervais, SIGA Vice President of Human Resources and Corporate Relations, said supporting the campaign was a natural fit. “This reflects our values and strengthens the communities we serve.”
From online donations and corporate sponsorships to legacy gifts and planned giving, there are many meaningful ways to support the Foundation. Each one makes a difference in the lives of patients and families facing kidney disease.
Thank you to SIGA and to all the donors who stepped forward. Your generosity is sparking lasting change for people across Saskatchewan.
