Front Entrance – Now Open!
Beginning January 29 at 5:30 a.m., visitors to St. Paul’s Hospital will be welcomed through our new front entrance. The entrance was thoughtfully designed to make arriving at the hospital clearer, more accessible, and more supportive for everyone.
Designed with Clarity and Comfort in Mind
The new front entrance was intentionally designed with clear, open sightlines, allowing patients and visitors to easily orient themselves as soon as they arrive. Natural light, open space, and unobstructed views help reduce uncertainty and make the first moments inside the hospital feel calm and welcoming.

Improved Wayfinding from Arrival Onward
Updated wayfinding is integrated throughout the entrance and interior pathways, making it easier to understand where to go next — whether visiting a clinic, meeting a loved one, or accessing hospital services. Clear signage and logical pathways support a smoother experience from the moment you step inside.

Fully Accessible for All
Accessibility was a key priority in the design of the new entrance. The space is fully accessible, with features that support people of all abilities, mobility needs, and sensory considerations. The goal is to ensure that everyone can enter and navigate the hospital with dignity, comfort, and confidence.

Entry Way Attendants to Support Patients and Visitors
To further support wayfinding and ease of access, entry way attendants will be present to help guide patients and visitors. Whether you have a question, need directions, or require additional assistance, trained staff will be available to help you find your way.
Indigenous Healing Centre
Located within the new entrance area, Kikâwînaw wîki – Our Mother’s Home – reflects a commitment to holistic care that honours Indigenous cultures, traditions, and ways of knowing. The space offers a welcoming place for reflection, connection, and spiritual support for Indigenous patients, families, and community members, as well as for anyone seeking a quiet, respectful space.

Traffic Circle and Parking Improvements
The new front entrance is supported by a traffic circle and nearby parking, designed to improve vehicle flow, drop-off access, and overall safety. These changes help make arriving at the hospital more intuitive, particularly for patients with mobility needs or time-sensitive appointments.
